Asoka Pillar
Right next to the Maya Devi temple is the pillar built by Emperor Ashoka of India in 249 BC. It is also known as the Ashoka Pillar. Sacred Lake Puskarnithe
To the south of the Maya Devi temple there is a famous holy lake called Puskarni. This lake is said to be the place where Queen Maya Devi took a dip in a religious ceremony just before giving her life to the Buddha. The lake has three terraces in ascending order.

Sacred Garden
The sacred garden is the site that connects the whole of Lumbini, surrounded by the Maya Devi pond and the Ashokan pillar. This is one of the most visited attractions in Lumbini Nepal. Because this garden is said to be the place where Buddha was born, the Nepal government has kept it very carefully.

Myanmar Golden Temple is the oldest structure in Lumbini Nepal. This temple has three prayer rooms and was built by the Myanmar government. Inside is the Lokamani Pula Pagoda, a Burmese-style pagoda architecture similar to Yangon's Shwe-Dagon Pagoda.
